The future-forward office is home to 22 meeting rooms, a gym, yoga studio, wellbeing room, multi-faith room, parenting room and tech-free relaxation space. This design reflects the company’s values, providing a space which promotes creativity, innovation, collaboration and accessibility.
This modern, intuitive refurbishment has transformed the JTI National Distribution Centre in Crewe into a contemporary workspace with a design which focuses on enhancing employee wellbeing and fostering collaboration.
Contractors TMT appointed P&A Projects to provide lighting solutions for this project in line with the client’s vision. P&A utilised a range of dynamic and flexible luminaires, including Flex Star downlights – an adjustable compact lighting system, track downlights, and a range of Subspace fixtures in a mix of recessed, surface and suspended variants, in both linear architectural luminaires and custom square tracks.
The continuous track lighting symbolises JTI’s focus on togetherness, fostering a sense of community and oneness within the open-plan office.
This system allows the client to easily adjust brightness levels to suit individual preferences or specific tasks, such as presentations, helping to create a dynamic and responsive work environment.
This thoughtful design ensures a range of luminaire profiles to suit the needs of each space, placing linear luminaires in the meeting rooms, neatly fitted into the ceiling slats above the table, square profiles suspended above each bank of desks, and an impressive full track that runs the length of the entire office.
James Hall, Projects and Facilities Manager at JTI UK, said: “We are delighted with the newly installed lighting scheme in our recently refurbished office space. The standout feature is the single continuous lighting track that runs the full length of the open plan office, following the unique contours of the floorplan. This striking design element has become both a focal point and a conversation starter for visitors to the workspace.
“In addition to the main feature, our architect has thoughtfully designed individual square lighting tracks above each desk bank. These not only provide optimal task lighting but also complement the central linear track, contributing to a cohesive and contemporary design aesthetic.
“We’re proud of the outcome and believe the lighting scheme has significantly enhanced both the functionality and atmosphere of our office space.”
